We love summer here on the Pamlico River. Take advantage of some of the best parts of summer in eastern NC this month. Get out on the water. If you don’t have a boat, visit Liane at Inner Banks Outfitters to rent a kayak or stand up paddle board. The NC Estuarium offers a free River Roving cruise. The Belle of Washington, the Jeannie B, and Miss Bea Charters can also help get you on. the Pamlico. Or, take it up a notch and visit Park Boat Company to buy your own boat! Richard Andrews of Tar Pam Guide Service can put you on the big fish around here, too. We love supporting local businesses here in Washington and Beaufort County, and we encourage you to do the same.
August is also a good month to try out a new restaurant in Washington. Really, it’s too hot to turn on the oven or stand over a grill. Washington is fortunate to feature a mix of cuisine and menu options to suit even the pickiest of palates. Some even feature live music on the weekends. And, the best part is that you are supporting locally owned restaurants! For a full list of area restaurants, click here.
