We love April in Washington! The town comes to life again with the arrival of Spring. Music in the Streets, Saturday Market, and River Roving all return this month. If you’ve ever been to Washington, you know these are some pretty special happenings around here.
This month we also have some other events that you won’t want to miss! Washington will recognize the sesquicentennial of the Siege of Washington with a living history event. The event will take place at Festival Park and the North Carolina Estuarium on April 12-13. There will be lectures, reenactors, walking tours and more. For a complete schedule of events, take a look at the calendar of events here.
The BoCo Music Festival is set for Saturday, April 27. The line-up for this year is probably the best one yet. Beaufort County Arts Council and BCTMA present the 5th annual BoCO Music Festival on April 27th. Come join music lovers and musicians alike on the waterfront at Festival Park in downtown Washington, NC, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. You’ll hear some great bands and enjoy the offerings of local artisans and vendors. We’re counting on a warm and sunny April day to welcome locals and visitors alike.
Consider making it a weekend in Washington to enjoy the Music Festival and the Marine Market, both set for Saturday, April 27. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. check out the big nautical flea market where you’ll find new and used boats, nautical antiques, supplies, collectibles, fishing rods, and anything else nautical you can name! You can also enjoy clam chowder and tours of the Jeanie B.
If those two events aren’t enough to hold your attention, this year Ruth’s House is hosting an Antique and Collectibles Show in downtown Washington on Saturday, the 27th of April. Without a doubt, this is a great weekend to explore all that Washington has to offer. Who knows what amazing discoveries you’ll make?
